Introduced in 2021, the Digital Nomad Visa for Montenegro allows people who are not citizens of Montenegro and who work remotely to legally live and work in Montenegro for up to two years. It also allows you to bring your immediate family members with you, as long as you meet all the requirements. You will need to fulfill the following requirements and obtain the certain documents from your home country

Requirements:
  • You must not be employed or engaged in any business activity in Montenegro.
  • You must have clients or be employed by a company located outside of Montenegro.
  • You have to be able to provide your services and fulfil your work responsibilities using a stable internet connection and a laptop, which includes information and communication technology.
  • If you are self-employed, you need to provide evidence of your business activity, corporate purpose and business address, while also noting that your business cannot be registered in Montenegro.
  • You must prove that you earn at least €1,350 (after taxes) as the main applicant for the Digital Nomad Visa for Montenegro or have sufficient resources for the length of your stay. If you plan on extending your residency permit to your partner/spouse or child, you need to account for additional finances. For instance, for a spouse or partner, the minimum financial requirement will increase to around €3,650 per year. Additionally, for each child, the requirement will increase. In other words, for you, your spouse, and one child, you will need to be earning around €2,000 (after taxes) per month. At the moment, you can simply make a legal guarantee that you will cover all expenses and the departure of your family, and you don't have to prove you have enough funds for that. Documents:
  • Passport with at least 15 months of validity from the time of application in Montenegro.
  • Non-Conviction Certificate issued from the relevant state authority, no more than six months prior to the application date-must be apostilled.
  • You will need to prove that you are employed. Your proof should show that you are working for or with an establishment not located in Montenegro. You should bring an original contract with a stamp, or an official letter (signed and stamped) from the employer confirming that you are working via electronic technology remotely, and stating your salary in EUR.
  • You should include bank statements(certified and stamped, downloaded statements won't be accepted) for the last 12 months, together with the payslips(signed and stamped) for the last 12 months
  • The Company Registration Certificate of the foreign employer as proof of company registration-must be apostilled.
  • You will need to show proof of paid pension and health insurance in your country-must be apostilled.(in case you don't have bank statements and payslips)
